We’re all guilty of it—reaching for the same few eyeshadow shades while ignoring the rest of the palette. But those overlooked colours deserve some love! Here’s how to make sure they don’t go to waste:

Blue

Often seen as intimidating, blue eyeshadow is back in style—so it’s time to embrace it. Blue works beautifully with blue, brown, or green eyes. For a bold statement, apply it across your entire upper lid. If you prefer something subtle, try adding it just to the inner corners and blending it out into a neutral shade like brown or hazelnut for a modern, understated look.

Green

Green eyeshadow might remind you of the '80s, but it’s easy to modernize. A light wash of green across the lids or a deep emerald in the outer corners makes green, brown, and hazel eyes pop.

White and Pearl

White and pearl shades are true multitaskers. Use white as a base under other colors to make them more vibrant, or mix it with other shades to create soft pastels. For a simple brightening effect, apply white or pearl to the inner corners of your eyes and along the brow bone.

Black

Black can be tricky to wear alone, but it’s perfect for adding depth and drama. Apply it to the outer corners to elongate the eyes, or use a fine angled brush to create a smudged-out wing for a smoky look. You can also layer black with neutral tones for a more defined, intense finish.

Hot Pink

Don’t shy away from hot pink! Channel Nicola Coughlan's iconic neon pink eyeshadow at the Golden Globes. It’s a modern, daring choice—just remember to keep the rest of your makeup minimal to let your eyes do the talking.

Still not sure?

If you’re not ready to go all out, ease into color by applying a bright shade to just your lower lash line. It’s a subtle way to experiment with those neglected colors while keeping your look fresh.
