How to wash your makeup brushes
You cleanse and exfoliate your face making sure your skin is perfectly prepped for makeup. But have you thought about the makeup brushes you use to apply your makeup with? Are they just as clean? Be honest.
Cleaning your brushes is essential. Makeup brushes build up with excess product and bacteria that are then applied directly onto your face.
If you can, it’s recommended you should clean them after every use! If that seems like a mission, weekly should be sufficient.
Clean them with a special brush shampoo or your facial cleanser.
Simply apply cleanser onto your wet brush and move in a circular motion on your hand until the water runs clear (you may need to repeat the process a few times). Lay them flat on a clean towel to air dry. Avoid letting your brushes sit upright to dry as the water drains into the handle damaging the glue keeping the fibres in place. It also creates moisture build up that breeds mould. Yuk!
